Duties

  • Conduct outreach to current South Euclid businesses to understand the strengths and challenges of operating in South Euclid and market programs designed to support them.

  • Investigate best practices in economic development to improve One South Euclid’s support to the small business community.

  • Evaluate the success of existing programs and make recommendations to ensure greater success.

  • Assist with grant writing, marketing, and volunteer engagement to enhance One South Euclid’s ability to support small businesses.

  • Attend monthly Committee meetings, bi-monthly Board meetings and provide reports on progress of the project as directed.

  • Work collaboratively with One South Euclid staff and volunteers.

 

Benefits

  • Living Allowance: AmeriCorps provides a modest living allowance while you are serving in the VISTA program through One South Euclid. The living allowance, which covers basic necessities such as housing, food, and utilities, is a biweekly stipend of $513.94.

  • End-of-Service Awards: are given for successfully completing 12 months of service. You may choose either a cash award that accrues at a daily rate of $4.94/day during your term of service or the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, which is equal to the maximum value of the Pell Grant for the fiscal year of the term of service ($6,895 for Full time). It can be used to repay qualified student loans and to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs.

VISTA Full Time

VISTA SUMMER ASSOCIATE 2023 (Service dates: 6/12 - 8/20)

As a VISTA Summer Associate, you will help ensure the success of a new food truck park, support small businesses, and elevate South Euclid’s downtown district. You’ll have the opportunity to find unique and diverse food trucks and entertainers that drive residents and visitors to our city’s newest attraction, while promoting and encouraging further engagement with our current small business community. You also will be charged with promoting the food truck park and our downtown district and securing additional resources to help One South Euclid to continue its impact on our community.

Duties

  • Identify, recruit, and secure the participation of diverse food trucks, musicians, entertainers, and other small business vendors to participate in the food truck park’s offerings.

  • Engage current South Euclid businesses and entrepreneurs in the programming of the food truck park.

  • Support efforts to drive visitors from the food truck park to other businesses in the downtown area.

  • Create and support deployment of a marketing plan for the food truck park and downtown district that can be implemented year-round. Support additional fundraising efforts to ensure One South Euclid has more capacity to support the small business community.

  • Attend monthly Committee meetings, bi-monthly Board meetings, and provide reports on progress of the project as directed.

  • Work collaboratively with One South Euclid and City of South Euclid staff on execution of other community events.

 

Benefits

  • Living Allowance: AmeriCorps provides a modest living allowance while you are serving in the VISTA program through One South Euclid. The living allowance is a biweekly stipend of $675.08.

  • End-of-Service Award: At the end of a full 10 weeks of service, you may choose between an Education Award ($1,459.26) or a Cash Stipend ($345).
