Recess Rewind 2025
Recess Rewind 2025 Recap
The grown-ups took over the playground on Friday, July 18, as more than 140 community members gathered at Bexley Park for Recess Rewind, One South Euclid’s inaugural adult recess fundraiser benefiting the Neighborhood Grant Program.
The event, designed to spark nostalgic fun and foster community connection, delivered on every front. Attendees enjoyed classic playground games like sack races, three-legged races, and badminton, alongside lively music, local food, and free YMCA fitness classes. The four-team kickball tournament was a highlight of the evening, with the SSE Dawgs ultimately taking home the coveted team trophy - and bragging rights to match.
“Recess Rewind wasn’t just about play,” said Kristian Hunter, Executive Director of One South Euclid. “It was about coming together to support our neighbors. Every laugh, every high-five, and every raffle ticket helped us move our mission forward.”
In addition to the games, attendees lined up for burgers and hot dogs at the grill, participated in a 50/50 raffle, and explored the Kids Corner, ensuring fun for all ages. Volunteers from across the city pitched in to help make the evening seamless and memorable.
Proceeds from the event will support One South Euclid’s Neighborhood Grant Program, which funds home repairs, senior landscaping assistance, business façade improvements, and community beautification projects throughout South Euclid.
“This event captured everything we love about our city—playfulness, unity, and purpose,” said Board President Jillian Dinehart. “We hope Recess Rewind becomes a new South Euclid tradition.”
