Funding Opportunities

One South Euclid offers grants for residents and community groups. Whether you’re repairing a home or launching a neighborhood project, you can explore our programs and apply. With the exception of the Business Signage Grant, which is currently open, all other grant applications will open on January 20, 2026 and remain open until March 1, 2026.

Residents

Funds to help maintain safe, attractive homes and support seniors with landscaping.

  • Exterior Home Repair Grants - up to 50% match on eligible major repairs

  • Senior Landscaping - seasonal grass cutting and snow removal.

Community Groups

Small but mighty funding for neighborhood projects that bring people together or in support of South Euclid.

  • Mini Grants - up to $500 with a 20% match (cash, volunteer time, or in-kind).

Grants for South Euclid residents include Exterior Home Repairs and Senior Landscaping Grants.

Exterior Home Repairs

Program Overview

The Exterior Home Repair Program provides financial support to South Euclid residents for select exterior home repairs on owner-occupied properties. One South Euclid may fund up to 50% of a project's cost, at its discretion. Residents may apply for only on project per year. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be age 18 or older.

  • Own and occupy a home in South Euclid.

  • Must be current on property taxes.

  • You must have owned and lived in the home for at least one year.

  • If you have received a grant in the past, then you my reapply in three years.

 

Eligible Projects (Learn more)

The program covers the following types of exterior home repairs:

  • Driveway replacement     

  • Garage replacement

  • House painting

  • Roof replacement

  • Sidewalk replacement

  • Siding replacement

  • Step unit replacement

 

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide the following:

  • A description of the proposed repair/replacement

  • An expected timeline for project completion

  • Information demonstrating financial need. (There is no income limit for eligibility, but applicants should explain why assistance is required to complete the project.)

  • Applicant's funds for the project must be available by the time of the project start date.

 

The Grants Committee considers factors including, but not limited to financial need, the amount of funding requested, extenuating circumstances, and the proposed scope of the work. Residences with code violations don't necessarily receive preference.

How to Apply

Complete an application online by clicking the button below. Applications open Jan. 21, 2025 and close on March 1 at 12 a.m., 2025 (EST). Late applications will not be considered for funding.

 

Next Steps

Applicants may be contacted in March to submit:

  • Two contractor estimates for the project to determine scope and award.

  • Proof of income, such as the most recent federal tax return. If tax return is not filed, then SSI benefits statement, SSDI benefits statement, or statement of pension plan annual income statement.

 

Limited Funding

Final decisions are expected to be made in May. Approved projects must be completed by December 31, 2025. As in previous years, funding is limited. Therefore, not all applicants are guaranteed a grant.

Senior Landscaping

Program Overview

The Senior Landscaping Program assists South Euclid seniors who are unable to regularly cut their grass or shovel snow due to physical limitations, financial hardship, and a lack of social support. The goal of the program is to support aging in place. This grant pertains to the 2025 summer season and 2026 snow removal season.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be age 65 or older, and

  • Reside in South Euclid, and

  • Be unable to regularly cut their grass or shovel snow and lack someone to perform these tasks, such as a family member or neighbor, and

  • Lack the financial means to afford these services.

  • Applicant must provide proof of income.

How to Apply

  • Complete the application online by clicking the button below. If you do not have computer access, call 216-396-9392 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for assistance in completing the application by phone.

  • Applications open Jan. 21 and close March 1 at 12 a.m. EST. (Late applications will not be considered.) You will be notified sometime in April if you've received a grant.

 

Proof of Household Income is Required.

By March 8, 2025, you must submit Proof of Household Income, not just your own. This includes income for all adults living in the home. You may submit the information to bmccann@onesoutheuclid.org or mail a copy of the document(s) to:

What Type of Document is Needed for Proof of Income?

  • A copy of the most recent federal tax return, or

  • If federal taxes aren't filed, then a copy of the most recent SSI benefits statement, SSDI benefits statement, or an annual income statement from your pension plan will be sufficient. (Please redact your social security number on all documents, for privacy.)

 

Additional Information

  • Grant recipients will receive a list of contractors who are familiar with this program.

  • Grant recipients must sign a contract with a contractor and provide a copy to One South Euclid.

  • Grant recipients are also required to sign a grant Agreement with One South Euclid and submit a copy.

  • Previous grant recipients must re-apply annually.

 

Limited Funding

As in previous years, there may be more applicants than available funds. Therefore, not all applicants are guaranteed a grant.

Community Grants

Community Grants

Grants for the community include mini grants.

Mini Grants

Program Overview

One South Euclid offers grants of up to $500 to groups and organizations who want to build community by working together on projects and programs related to neighborhood beautification, events, or other initiatives in support of South Euclid. Take a look at our past awardees and what they have done with their mini grants.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • South Euclid residents on behalf of a group or organization

  • A group of South Euclid businesses

  • An organization located in the community

  • Youth-led projects are encouraged

Timelines

  • Beginning January 20, 2026, Mini Grant applications will be accepted year-round on a rolling basis. This replaces the previous twice-yearly application periods held in March and July.

  • Funding decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis until available funds are exhausted.

  • A limited amount of funds are available for mini-grant projects. Grant decisions will be made in April and August.

Grant Terms and Conditions

  • You may apply for up to $500.

  • A 20% match is required to demonstrate buy-in and can be in cash, volunteer hours, or through donated items, such as space and equipment/supplies.

  • Applications must be received before a project has been completed.

  • Grant dollars are issued on a reimbursement basis.

  • Your project or event must be completed by December 31, 2025.

  • This grant does not support projects for individual residential properties.

Questions

  • Q. Does a group need to be an established organization or a 501 (c)3 to receive a grant?

  • A. No, we welcome applications from informal groups such as a few residents getting together to do something for their neighborhood.
