PUBLIC MURAL

One South Euclid seeks proposals from experienced artists for the design and execution of a public art mural on an exterior wall of a privately owned building at 4202 Mayfield

Road in South Euclid.

Date issued: April 7, 2023

Due Date: May 12, 2023

Design
Approach

The proposed mural will be on the building of the Johns-Carabelli Company, an industry leader in memorials, monuments and other stonework for 140 years. Some of their best known works are the Haserot Angel, the John D. Rockefeller Obelisk, the Wade Chapel, the Charles F. Brush Monument, and the gravestones of rock icons Alan Freed and Michael Stanley, all of which can be found at Lakeview Cemetary. This mural should focus on celebrating South Euclid and its historic contributions and connection to the greater Cleveland area.

The wall measures 50’ wide by 24’ tall and faces west. The artwork may take up to nearly the full scale of the wall, with the exception being the wrap around bricks of the front facade.
